The MLB 2014 live stream and televised games schedule brings the reigning World Champions into the spotlight on Monday, April 7 from Boston. It'll be the Rangers vs. Red Sox featured as Boston tries to get a hold on their early season. The Sox have started at just 2-4 with a dismal 0-3 home record, but will look to ace pitcher John Lackey to try to get the win at home. The latest televised and live streaming MLB game on the schedule will be featured via ESPN sources.
According to ESPN.com in an April 7 report, Boston lost three straight games to the Milwaukee Brewers over the past weekend. During that stretch, Boston was outscored 17-8 and was just 3-for-19 with runners in scoring position. Outfielder Daniel Nava has been just 3-for-26 overall and 1-for-13 as a leadoff batter. In addition, Will Middlebrooks was recently put on the 15-day disabled list due to a strained right calf.
"We've had a difficult time bunching hits together," manager John Farrell said. "We're doing our (best), I know that, to try to build an inning, to try to hit to the situation. At some point, you credit the quality of pitches made in key spots by the opposing pitcher."
On the other side will be the Texas Rangers, who come in at .500 with a 3-3 record. They’re on a 1-game winning streak but will send a relatively unproven pitcher to the mound in Tanner Scheppers. Scheppers is 7-3 for his career, and has a 15.75 ERA with no decisions to start this season. In his last outing, he was rocked for eight hits and seven runs in just four innings against the Phillies.
"I was extremely disappointed. You bear down there. My pitches were around the zone," Scheppers said. "I was just trying to be too fine with everything, trying to hit corners. Unfortunately, I put the guys in a big hole."
Boston will try to turn around their 3-game losing streak tonight behind Lackey, who is currently 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA. His last game was a win with 6 innings pitched against the Baltimore Orioles and just 2 earned runs allowed. Of course Lackey will need some of the available Boston bats to come to life to give him some run support against a Texas team capable of putting plenty of runs on the board.
The Red Sox are the favorites despite the recent slump, with a price as high as -165 at many sports books. The Rangers are priced at +150 and up as underdogs in this spot, with the over/under runs total set at 9 at most sports books. Weather reports show a 90% chance of rain late, a game temperature of 47 degrees and wind blowing right to left at 12 to 17 mph.
Monday's 2014 MLB game featuring Texas vs. Boston has a scheduled start time of 7 p.m. EST from Fenway Park. Televised coverage will be available through ESPN for cable and satellite customers around the nation. In addition, the WatchESPN broadband sports network will have this game live streaming online. Only customers of select cable and satellite companies are able to access this free live stream through WatchESPN. See more details here on how to watch online.
