Easter is just around the corner, which means Zaytinya 6th annual Greek Easter Festival is about the start. Jose Andres’ popular Greek/Turkish restaurant is famous for its fabulous Greek Easter Festival, mostly due to the great food and drink specials the restaurant runs during the Festival. This year the Festival will begin on April 20th, which is Greek Orthodox Palm Sunday, and run until May 3rd, the Saturday after Easter.

The special dishes offered by Head Chef Michael Costa will include traditional Greek cornmeal porridge with poached eggs, a salad called marouloslata made with greens, brown butter hazelnuts, and fresh cheese, loukamades, which are crispy Greek donut holes drenched in a citrus thyme syrup and decorated with edible flowers, and much more.
The signature cocktail of the Festival is a rye whiskey beverage comprised of lemon juice, honey-walnut syrup, and St. Elizabeth allspice dram, which is a rum based allspice liquor. There will also be a non-alcoholic beverage special, which is a delicious baklava soda, made in house. The drink is a sublime mixture of cinnamon, lime juice, honey, and black walnut syrup.
To culminate the celebration, on Saturday, May 3rd from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Zaytinya will host Agora, its annual Greek outdoor market event on its beautiful patio. Guests can peruse Greek artisanal products while enjoying some of the special food and drink offerings of the event. Live music, Spartan warriors, and complimentary loukamades are some of the features which are bound to make the event a success. Admission to Agora is free to the public.
